Argh. How come I always end up hating Na's costumes...? Grrrr...I'm so pissed that I couldn't come to Armageddon to see this thing perform...><
The kimono was made as a seperate skirt and top, to allow more freedom of movement and posing without untucking the whole damn thing. It is a few rectangles sewn together in a cleverly thought out pattern and has hook and eye fastenings. I didn't do enough research before I started making it though, so it looks odd if you don't stand ramrod-striaght while wearing it...I know better now. ^^;;; Sadly I had that little epiphany half way through this one. ><
The obi however, is the genuine article. T___T I did no small amount of research on how to tie an obi *properly* to make this, and made all the neccessary components, blah blah blah...and ARGH!! It's over 4m long and I had to unpick ALL my hemming not once, but TWICE!!! *collapses into teary mess* that fucking sucked, man...and it took us all a very long time to learn how to tie it properly. I ended up leaving it to those who would be there to help her if she needed it. I'm not detailing all the crap involved with that here - if you want to know, please email me and I'll be glad to send you all my reference shiznit. And another note - the painting was done by Na. *bows low* Muchos thankyous, Na...
