So. Massive gathering this was - a whole four people! :P it was nice though - we all knew each other, and had a good time with our champagne and teaparty sammiches. I wasn't sure at first if I could really call this a lolita costume, but evidently it fits in with the ero-loli thing. I didn't do a traditional, poofy loli because when I attempt such a look, I just look like a cupcake on toothpicks. In drag. Too tall, am I!

I planned this costume around christmas time whilst laying in bed trying to get to sleep. Productive, no? Yeah, whatever, we all know I'm strange. Anyway - corset was constructed from my wonderful and much used pattern, with only a few minor modifications to make the stripes more or less even. I used a glittery white organza overlaid on white cotton drill for all the white stripes on skirt and corset, and my favourite chrysanthemum brocade for the red. Embellishments were added, and bob's your uncle, top half is done. Skirt is a full circle, and each seam is gathered with a short piece of elastic sewn in - very circus tent.
Petticoat is three times my hip measurement in white tulle with an organza ruffle along the hem, and the sleeves are just elasticated strips of stripes with lace around the edges. Haha, if you look closely you can see my stocking rolling down on one side - those things drove me nuts! They were just cheap nasty ones, and they ripped and rolled and were too tight...Gosh! What a pain.
