I did plan on making more costumes for this assignment - but I ran out of time and money. As it was, I made three from scratch and recycled my Candycane costume in something more fitting for it, lol. However this is about the only one I'm going to post photos of, as the others are WAY RUSHED and definitely look it!
Kinestasis is using still images to make a video; ala stop motion animation. For the assignment I shot about 1,500 photos over a weekend and two other little mini-shoots...I just about died; but what a fantastic lesson in time management. Hm. These shots are all from the video, so bear that in mind when looking at them...they aren't actually meant to be looked at on their own! Eventually I will get this into the studio to photograph though, I hope...
Anyway - for this costume, I used a corset purchased from a workmate as the main feature. The skirt is very simple; just a piece of side-rouched satin with an elasticated waist. The top is much the same - just a tube top with lace and frills added and gathered at the centre front. The sash and bustles are basically just pieces of fabric artfully bunched and tied in place...I luv me sum budget costuming. (not really...but it must needs be done on occasion!) Hat and cameo were purchased, gloves are a hand-me-down from somewhere, and the cravatte was made in about twenty minutes.
