Little-Noise Terms & Conditions

Quotations and Pricing

In purchasing a garment or commissioning a garment to be made for you (the Client) by Little-Noise (the Company) you agree to payment terms arranged prior to the job being accepted. A deposit must be made to secure the services of the Company and no work shall begin until this deposit (to the value of the quoted materials cost OR 50% of the total price, whichever is applicable) has been accepted. Once the payment has cleared - the Company takes no responsibility for payments delayed by financial institutions or any other reason beyond the Company's direct control - this is considered the beginning of the order, and the beginning of the estimated timeframe for completion of the order.

All "quotes" are ESTIMATES ONLY and are subject to change. Any variance in the quote of more than 10% of the total estimated price will cause work to stop on the job until the Client has approved the cost. Variances of less than 10% of the total estimated price will be added/subtracted from the final invoice. If the Client wishes to cancel the order at this point, standard cancellation fees may apply, as outlined in this document.

When you accept a quote from the Company, you agree to the Terms and Conditions laid out in this document. Failure to read and understand these Terms and Conditions prior to accepting a quote from the Company is not the responsibility of the Company and does not affect your obligation to abide by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully.

Client-Supplied Information

The Company relies heavily on information supplied by the Client and accepts no responsibility for incorrect information supplied. This includes incorrect measurements, reference images or postal details for delivery. Where incorrect reference images are supplied, or where the Company needs to do research outside the information provided by the customer, discrepancies may occur. In the event that any discrepancies are discovered during construction of the garment/s, the Company will make every reasonable effort to ensure details are corrected. If discrepancies occur in the final product, the Company may correct the discrepancies or not, at its own discretion. In the event that an incorrect delivery address is supplied, the Client is liable for additional postage fees.

Once an estimate has been accepted, details within the invoice are considered final. Any changes to these details (colour, fabric, etc) must be confirmed by the Company in writing. If a change involves a substantial shift in workload or materials cost, the Company reserves the right to charge additional fees to cover any costs incurred by the changes.

Mock-up Garments

Where mock-up garments are necessary, the Client is responsible for all shipping costs. All custom sized corsets will include one mock-up garmentin the initial price estimate, plus tracked freight to the Client. The Client is responsible for getting the mock-up back to the Company once fit has been checked.

When a mock-up garment arrives with the Client, it must be worn for at least an hour and a half to ensure that any fitting issues have time to "develop" fully. The Client is then requested to inform the Company of the fit of the mock-up garment - the Company requests that photos be taken of the fit of the garment being worn so that the fit can be assessed. It is the Client's responsibility to ensure that a mock-up garment fits properly when instructing the Company to make the final garment.

Limitations of Liability

In the event that a garment is made incorrectly due to incorrect information supplied by the Client, the Client is liable for all additional costs incurred to either party. The Company may correct these, or not, at its discretion. The Company accepts no responsibility for damage caused to purchased garments through improper care or use.

Upon completion of a costume or garment, the Company will always (where possible) supply the Client with photographs of the finished product for final approval. If any issues are present with the costume or garment, this is the Client's final opportunity to raise them. After the Client has approved the finished product, the Company is under no obligation to modify the finished product. If there are issues with the product that are only obvious upon receipt of the product (ie. sizing problems, or other issues not visible in the supplied photographs) the Company will fulfil its obligations to repair or refund the product provided the Client contacts the Company within 7 days of receipt. If a garment is received in a condition that the Client deems to be unacceptable, the Client has 7 days to contact the Company. After this time, the Company reserves the right to refuse any repairs or alterations. This does not include manufacturing defects that may develop in the future. In the event that a corset's construction fails within six months of purchase, please contact the Company. The Company uses high quality materials and constructs each garment with care, but manufacturing faults do occur. In these cases, the Company will work with the Client to resolve the situation.

All customs duties or fees on orders are the responsibility of the Client.

The Company takes all possible steps to ensure that garments are delivered in a timely fashion, with a reliable carrier. The Company will therefore only ship via tracked courier, with a signature required upon receipt in most cases. Cheaper shipping methods, such as those that do not carry a tracking number, will not be used under any circumstances. Once the completed order is dispatched via courier, the Company holds no further responsibility for the order.

If an order is cancelled, the cost of materials is non-refundable. If construction has already begun, a cancellation fee may apply. If an order is cancelled within 24 hours of payment, a portion of the normally non-refundable materials deposit may be refunded at the Company's discretion.

Little-Noise costumes are designed for light costume wear. They will therefore withstand the stresses of occasional wear under reasonable circumstances. They are not intended for daily wear, and as such, may show wear if worn for extended periods, as with standard fashion garments.

Little-Noise corsets, as of April 1st 2012, are made with three layers of fabric, including a base of cotton coutil. They are designed to take the stresses of regular, extended wear - they are not, by default, intended to be used by those who wish to achieve a smaller waist measurement over time ("waist training"), though garments may be strengthened for this purpose on request, for additional fees. The new fabrics and techniques used are of a higher quality and the likelihood of damage caused by extended wear is greatly reduced, but attempting a reduction greater than that recommended by the Company (3 inches on the waist measurement) may still result in damage to the garment and as such is not recommended by the Company, and the Company holds no responsibility for damage to the garment as a result of such action.

Little-Noise corsets are sized to be worn with a 2-3" gap, and a 3" reduction on the waist (unless otherwise specified). To illustrate - a customer with a 30" waist, who wants a 3" reduction, will receive a garment with a waist measurement of 24-25". With the 2-3" gap at the lacing, the waist measurement of the customer when wearing the garment will be approximately 27".
